Salt + Smoke has built partnerships with several local venues, catering a variety of events including weddings, rehearsal dinners, business lunches, and more. We are looking for talented catering personnel with a passion for service and a commitment to making sure our events run smoothly and we go above and beyond our clients’ expectations.

You will report to the Catering Manager/Director, the Catering Leads, and any in Store Manager, front or back of house you might also work with.


This position will require catering events at different locations, not limited to our venue partners. Our catering employees are responsible for the set up, service, and break down of these events, all while providing the high level of hospitality we are known for. We want our clients and their guests to choose us and keep choosing us in the future!

  • Collect and double check that an order has all the items required using the event checklist before leaving the restaurant.
  • Set up the event space properly: may include buffet setup, food preparation, table setups and sanitation areas if needed.
  • Ensure that any and all tableware including glasses, silverware, plates, etc. are polished and presentable.
  • Troubleshoot any issues that might arise on site.
  • Provide exemplary quality, consistency, and customer service throughout the event.
  • Collect payment from clients and appropriately handle/distribute receipts.
  • Coordinate logistics with other servers and supervisors throughout the event.
  • Adhere to service timelines.
  • Maintain high standards of food presentation, plating, and serving.
  • Break down set up, leaving the client’s space better than it was found.
  • Maintain sanitation standards.
  • Properly return all equipment back to the restaurant in a timely manner and to the proper place.
  • Other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.


  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays. Scheduled days and times may vary based on business needs.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capable of staying on task and focused to meet timelines of service.
  • Ability to travel to various locations as needed.
  • Ability to stand on feet for extended periods of time in varied climate conditions.
  • Ability to work with team members in a respectful and courteous manner.

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1+ year of catering experience preferred.
