Job Summary

As a District Manager of Culinary Operations (Quarterly bonus eligible), each day you will be focused on excellence. Our District Manager of Culinary Operations supports the dining experience by bridging Central Kitchen and shop operations by supporting our shops’ kitchen operations with freshly prepared high-quality ingredients to make the highest quality food that leaves our guest with a positive dining experience.

Job Duties

  • Supervise, coach, and develop all kitchen team members
  • Provide strong leadership, support, and guidance to team members to ensure that company culture, food quality, standard operating procedures, inventory levels, food safety guidelines and customer service are met
  • Evaluate, enhance, and influence store level operating programs through communication, planning and customer service excellence
  • Communicate effectively with Dining team members, General Manager and Corporate team members
  • Development and maintenance of selected company programs and procedures
  • Lead the kitchen by rallying team during busy shifts, resolving conflicts, and getting the job done
  • Able to come up with a solution quickly when dealing with issues including employee conflicts, irate customers, and wrong vendor orders
  • Purchase food and supplies to meet daily production needs
  • Ability to maintain records and complete reports as required including web-based reports on both desktop and tablet computers
  • Recruit, interview, and train new team members
  • Train kitchen team members on all stations based on business needs to maintain a highly productive team working under an efficient schedule that meets labor budget
  • Maintain a kitchen that is clean, organized and inviting to our guest
  • Follow through on daily quality check by performing all company directed quality check list and maintain high standards in the store
  • Other duties as assigned

Professional and Educational Requirements
  • 2+ years or more of related experience
  • Experience with vendor management, group buying organizations, rebate management, FTL & LTL purchasing
  • Experience with product specification writing and quality control to meet food specifications for internally produced items
  • Ability to obtain or presently hold a Washington State Food Handlers Card
  • Serve safe certified or equivalent required
  • General understanding of soup production, HACCP, TAAC
  • Ability to interpret and analyze reports on food cost, labor, and sanitation
  • Knowledge of and the ability to use a PC and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Written and oral communication skills
  • Good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently to accomplish tasks in a timely fashion

Job-Specific Requirements and core competencies
  • Must be able to lift/carry/push/pull 50 pounds, and be able to stand, sit, bend, and walk for extended periods of time
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Flexible schedule
  • Ability to spend long days around hot cooking equipment while spending much of the time on your feet (minimum of 8 hours per day)
  • Meet store operating policies and standards, including providing quality beverages and food products, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Comply with, coach, and model a professional and clean dress code
  • Ability to develop positive working relationships with all restaurant personnel
  • Ability to speak clearly and listen attentively to guests and employees
  • Ability to speak, read, and understand the primary language(s) of the work location
