Unit Description:
Sodexo is seeking a
Executive Chef 2 for the
Lake Park Senior Living Community in Oakland, CA. Lake Park brings together a mix of accomplished, diverse seniors near the beauty of Oakland’s Lake Merritt. With views of the lake and city, along with all the opportunities our vibrant, eclectic neighborhood has to offer, our senior living community is the perfect place for an active, urban life. The ideal candidate will be hands-on as needed, have excellent interpersonal skills, enjoy working with seniors, and managing and developing their team. Best qualified candidate will possess excellent leadership and communication skills.

The Executive Chef provides culinary leadership within a medium sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training. Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution. have an active role in managing finances; P&L, cost controls, customer service, and will provide strategic leadership to staff.

Skillsets:
  • Working knowledge of HACCP protocols for regulatory compliance
  • Food production, catering, and retail management experience
  • Hands on skills with inventory management, on-line ordering
  • Ability to train & develop employees
  • Implements & coordinates the culinary function.
  • Directs & trains cooks & utility workers.
  • Ensures food preparation & production meets operational standards.
  • Manages catering & retail areas.
  • Customer & Client satisfaction.
  • Financial management to include food cost & labor management.
  • Manages food & physical safety programs.

Basic Education Requirement – Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience

Basic Management Experience – 2 years

Basic Functional Experience – 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
