HopCat’s mission is simple: Be the best damn beer bar on the planet. Our restaurants are designed, stocked, and staffed with one mission in mind: To bring you great beer. A servers work is no small feat. Each servers primary objective is to give guests the best experience imaginable while maintaining a fun & inviting work atmosphere.


  • 2+ years at a high-volume restaurant
  • Minimum availability of 6 shifts over a 5-day period
  • Able to work long hours; on your feet, carrying trays & climbing stairs


  • Greets all guests warmly
  • Performs Food & Beer Menu tours through conversation with guests
  • Navigates guests toward products based on discussed preferences & informs guests of specials
  • Writes down all guest orders, reads them back & mentally reviews before leaving the table
  • Monitors timing of product preparation & checks presentation of items before leaving the kitchen
  • Uses a tray when carrying more than 2 items
  • Delivers food items to guests following pivot system, announcing item name & modifiers (gives correct meal to correct guest per ticket & never auctions food)
  • Provides guest with whatever is needed to make their experience comfortable & enjoyable
  • Monitors timing of product preparation & eagerly delivers products to guests
  • Uses POS system, cash & credit/debit card handling
  • Maintains neat work space & sets fellow employees up for success by completing daily side work
  • Works & communicates well with guests, fellow employees & management


  • Executes each shift using a Service State of Mind
  • Effective & polite communicator (in person, through email, over the phone & via POS)
  • Prioritizes tasks & is efficient with time & steps
  • Stays well organized with a strong attention to detail
  • Able to memorize restaurant floor plan including table numbers & pivot points
  • Able to read written menu & POS touch screen
  • Able to identify when a product does not meet quality standards & resolve the issue before bringing product to guest
  • Able to discuss specific & unique characteristics of food & beverages

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 points. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision and depth perception.
