Banquet Server – Ruth Eckerd Hall Inc – Clearwater, FL

POSITION: Banquet Server

STATUS: Part Time/Hourly

DEPARTMENT: Food & Beverage

REPORTS TO: Director of Catering

POSITION CONCEPT:

To serve the Mission, Vision and Values of REH, Inc. by providing excellent food service to banquet guests

and assisting in preparation and clean‐up of event space.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Assist with table and banquet hall prep before the event

Assist with food/buffet preparation before and during the event

Ensure safe food handling guidelines are followed by self and team members

Arrange food on serving trays in an aesthetic manner

Deliver food from the kitchen and/or prep area to the banquet hall in a timely manner

Serve appetizers and plated dinners to guests

Open wine, take drink orders

Serve both alcoholic and non‐alcoholic beverages

Refill water glasses

Take customer questions and/or requests, assist in a timely and satisfactory manner

Assist with post‐event clean up, inventory, food storage, and tear down

Work as a member of a team, communicate with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient

work ethic and overall guest satisfaction

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

High School diploma preferred.

Experiences:

Previous server experience required.

Demonstrated Skills or Knowledge:

General knowledge of safety and sanitary best practices.

Proficient in email and internet communication.

Demonstrated commitment to the principles of teamwork and shared responsibility.

Ability to follow instructions in a timely manner.

Ability to relate to a diverse group of people.

Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively both orally and in writing.

Physical Demands:

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs

Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and stand for periods of time.

Ability to maintain good attendance is a condition of employment and a function of this position.

Other:

Ability to work long and irregular hours, including holidays.

Successful completion of a background check and drug screen.
