The Good Eating Company

is seeking an experienced Executive Pastry Chef, this dynamic pastry leader will be at St Mary’s College in Moraga, California. The clients have asked GEC to come be a part of a College that Changes Lives, we will offer a fresh sustainable Chef driven program created just for the students at St Mary’s.
The
Executive Pastry Chef will support the total scratch pastry production, responsibilities including the supervision of hourly pastry staff with a
focus on scratch pastries and baked goods and excellent customer experience.

Success in this role and in the relationship will require you to:
  • Be innovative every day
  • An eye for high end pastries
  • A strong focus on new pastry techniques
The ideal candidate has:
  • a strong pastry background, with the demonstrated ability to stay current with new pastry trends
  • excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to maintain the highest of culinary standards

Position Summary:
Provides culinary leadership within a medium sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training. Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution.

Key Duties
  • Implements & coordinates the culinary function.
  • Directs & trains cooks & utility workers.
  • Ensures food preparation & production meets operational standards.
  • Manages catering & retail areas.
  • Customer & Client satisfaction.
  • Financial management to include food cost & labor management.
  • Manages food & physical safety programs.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Basic Education Requirement – Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience

Basic Management Experience – 2 years

Basic Functional Experience – 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
