Chef/Kitchen Manager at Houston Fun-Plex

We are looking for a candidate that understands this position is not just a kitchen manager, but mainly our Chef/Lead Cook. Chef/Kitchen Manager position tasks include oversight of food preparation, management of line staff and dishwashers, inventory and purchasing, menu creation and pricing, food and staff budgeting, staff scheduling and kitchen safety and cleanliness maintenance.

Qualifications and requirements:

· Prior kitchen experience as a chef or line cook

· Managing kitchen staff

· Budgeting and purchasing (ordering the food)

· Strong leadership skills

· Exceptional and creative culinary skills

· Ability to work in a high-pressure environment

· Ability to multi-task and expedite a kitchen line

· Ability to balance budget and save on soft costs such as scheduling and product waste

· Must be able to train staff to provide exceptional customer service. This includes ensuring that meals are prepared properly and efficiently

· Satisfying customers, quickly resolving issues and exceeding expectations ensures customer loyalty and repeat visits

· Must be able to resolve issues as they happen in an efficient way

· Need to be able to quickly assess a situation, propose resolutions and implement a solution

· Produce high quality food while also keeping costs in line

· Whether it is resolving an issue, relating important information about scheduling, or speaking with staff or customers, a successful manager explains information in a way that people will easily understand

· Inventory, sets up and stocks food items and other necessary supplies

· Maintain cleanliness and complies with food sanitation (aware of health department codes) requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage

· Performs inventory checks and completes food storage logs

· Checking the food before serving it to a customers

· Be able to create and edit food recipes

· Catering and Baker experience preferred

Ability to work a variety of shifts including weekends, days, afternoons, evenings, and holidays
